Frame Lab is a South London-based framing workshop designed specifically for artists and photographers who want to take charge of how their work is framed.
Whether you're looking to learn the craft yourself or prefer to have us frame your work for you, we provide the tools, space, and guidance to get it right.
This is a professional framing space created by and for those working in the visual arts—focused on craftsmanship, creative independence, and making sure your work is presented exactly as it should be.

About Me
I'm Robert, an old-school analogue photographer and darkroom printer, making hand-crafted gelatin silver fine art prints. I started framing my own photographs for two reasons—I didn’t want anyone else handling my prints, and I wasn’t keen on paying shop prices for something I felt I could learn to do myself.
So, I went on a deep dive into framing. I took a training course, researched the equipment, and decided to set up my own workshop. Now, I have huge respect for professional framers and the skill they bring to their craft. But I also believe that making a simple, well-crafted frame for a piece of art is something anyone with a bit of commitment can learn with the right tools and guidance. I know because I did it.
I offer a one-to-one training workshop for artists who want to learn the essentials of framing. The workshop covers cutting and assembling frame moulding, cutting and fitting window mats, handling and cutting glass, and finally, bringing all the components together to create a professional-quality frame.
